Target group and Learning Outcomes

   Target group


The direct beneficiaries of the IP are:

✔ the students who are studying for a Bachelor and/or a Masters in: Religious Education, Social Work and Communication. 
 the teachers (staff members) in the same academic programs and/focused on academic support.


Learning Outcomes


The expected outcomes of the IP envisages that the students acquire: 

• New attitudes towards diversity 

• Competencies that Religious education teachers need to have in order to recognize and esteem diversity as a resource



• Change their perspective and see the diversity through the eyes of the ‘other’

• A view of the difference between men and women towards diversity

• A positive perspective to see the common things than differences and appreciate the common

• Ability to stress the common points that unite us and not those that divide us. 

• Recognize the difference without dynamic of exclusion

• A proposal for new curricula for the Schools of Theology that will include teaching the students how to deal with diversity and be able to teach about it and the kind of work needed to establish a competence in Religious diversity

Aims of the programme



Aims:

✔ to promote exchanges of student-teachers and teachers in order to promote better knowledge and understanding of different cultures and education systems.

✔ to encourage a way in the teaching about diversity so as to put together the IP as place of exchange of diversities

✔ to make student-teachers to acquire such abilities/competences so as to be more receptive to different cultures 

✔ to help student teachers and teachers to understand and appreciate educational approaches towards diversity than those in their own countries

✔ to help student-teachers become aware of the various forms of cultural expression present in their own national cultures, and in migrant communities

✔ to help student-teachers realise that they too should become agents of a process of cultural exchange and develop and use strategies for approaching, understanding and giving due consideration to other cultures as well as educating their pupils to give due consideration to them. 

✔ to help students develop cross-cultural skills in dealing with cultural and religious dimensions within the European context

✔ to develop among students a cross-cultural professional attitude in cooperating and dialogue
